Online Queer and LGBTQI+ affirmative therapy, wherever you are

Whether you're exploring your sexuality or gender, navigating a coming out process, or working through family or faith-related conflict, this is a space where you don't have to explain the basics. I offer therapy that starts from a place of affirmation, not tolerance.

I work with queer, LGBTQI+, and questioning adults online across the UK and internationally, as well as in person in North West London. As a queer man myself, I understand first-hand how much it matters to feel genuinely understood, not just accommodated.

Why this matters

A lot of people come to therapy carrying more than the issue they first mention. Years of having to explain, justify, or downplay part of who they are can sit underneath it, sometimes including in previous therapy. You shouldn't have to do that groundwork here. This is a space where being queer, or LGBTQI+, is simply part of the picture, not something we need to establish is “okay.”

People come to therapy with me for...

  • Support with coming out, to yourself, family, friends, or at work, at any age or stage of life
  • Space to explore or affirm your sexual orientation - including Bisexuality
  • Support around gender identity, gender exploration, or transition
  • Help with minority stress, internalised shame, or the effects of past discrimination
  • Support navigating family, cultural, or religious conflict around your identity
  • Space to think through relationships and relationship structures, including polyamorous and other non-monogamous relationships
  • Support exploring how different parts of your identity intersect, for example being queer and neurodivergent, or queer within a specific cultural or faith background
  • Help with anxiety, low mood, or self-esteem that can sit alongside any of the above

Of course, plenty of LGBTQI+ clients come to therapy for reasons that have nothing to do with their identity, including grief, trauma, and anxiety. You're just as welcome here for those. See the main site for the fuller range of what I work with.

Online, wherever you are

Most of my LGBTQI+ clients work with me online, and it's a setting I'd genuinely recommend rather than treat as a fallback. It can make it easier to access an affirming therapist regardless of where you live, especially if local options feel limited, if you'd rather not be seen attending a practice near you, or if you're simply more comfortable speaking from a familiar space of your choosing. Sessions run over video offer the same thoughtful, confidential space as in-person therapy.

My approach

My work is integrative and person-centred, which means we shape the therapy around what's useful for you rather than fitting you into a fixed model. I won't assume your goals. Some people want to process something specific; others want an ongoing space to think out loud without a fixed agenda, and we'll figure out what's right together.

I'm a BACP-registered therapist trained at The Minster Centre, and I approach identity, sexuality, and gender as things to be explored with curiosity, never as something to be fixed, explained, or minimised.

Confidentiality

Everything discussed in our sessions is confidential. If you're not fully “out” in parts of your life, or you're still working out what you want to share and with whom, that's entirely welcome here, and working online can make that easier to manage on your own terms.

There are a small number of legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality (for example, a risk of serious harm), which I'll explain clearly at the start of our work together.

Getting started

If you're not sure LGBTQI+ therapy is the right step yet, that's completely normal. I offer a free 20-minute call, no pressure, just a chance to ask questions and get a sense of whether this feels like the right fit before committing to anything.
